... and the resources that you gathered to say, "Okay, now it's time for me to kinda step into something bigger than me." 'Cause a lot of the times-
I would say that we have an expectation of what our life may look like, but God always has this bigger plan.
And I was just even talking to a friend before I got on with you today, and, um, she was kinda bummed out that she lost a client, you know, because that client says, "I just felt like you weren't, your mind wasn't where it needed to be." And I had to kinda s- let her know, if someone doesn't see you for who you are and the passion and purpose, that person's not for you.
... that, where you felt maybe heartbroken because there was something that you really wanted to do, but You realize, wait, I didn't, I didn't need to panic, I needed to pivot.
Where in your life did you find those pivotal moments? 'Cause I believe so many times we get lost in trying to chase our dreams, but things happen-
Do you recall those times where you could've panicked but pivot and, and you've seen the other side?
Yeah, I mean, I think that like, I mean, these kind of two major inflection points looking back, I could see this, when I worked for this missions organization when I was in seminary as sort of this light-- You know, I'm in seminary, I'm training to be a pastor or missionary, and this kind of light bulb moment of, oh, I actually am really much better suited to this kind of ad- organizational leadership or administrative role.
And those obviously, they're not mutually exclusive, right? They are related, but it is a slightly different kind of role than being a pastor or being a missionary, I think.
So that was one really significant inflection point for me that I think really turned my life in a different direction than I'd anticipated it would go.
Um, and then I think it was working in international development and that feeling of just like, I really-- this work is so rich and so good, and the people I work with are so brilliant, and I'm sort of-
I just remember that feeling of like, I'm climbing this ladder, and I'm doing it, but I don't actually feel like what's at the top of this ladder is for me.
You know? I feel like it's, there's something else for me that God is calling me to.
And so that kind of going back to school, doing the MBA retooling, was another opportunity for me to sort of, um, kinda transition, and then that, that, that k- that kind of transitioned back to the faith-based space.
You know, I remember thinking-- 'cause you know, there were times when I was working in international development where I thought like, "Why did I go to seminary?" It was hard to even make sense of that decision or that, uh, you know, people would ask me like, "Are you a pastor? Do you wanna be a pastor?"
