Travel becomes really meaningful when you have silly or stupid stories that you can reminisce on for the rest of your life, so I figured it was about time for me to bring some of my favorite travel…
[upbeat music] Hey there, it's Angela with Wild Hare Travels, and I hope you're having a wonderful week.
So I figured it was about time to bring some of my favorite travel memories to the show.
And I'll be totally honest, I hesitated about doing this episode for a couple of reasons.
Number one, some of the memories are those stories where I might just tell them, and you're gonna be like, "Okay, that's it?" Because it's one of those things where you had to be there, you know? And I also hesitated because I don't want this podcast to be all about me or anything.
These memories that are still sticking with me after all these years and still making me smile and giggle and facepalm in some instances, these are the reasons why travel is so important to me.
Travel is not about going and seeing the sights and saying, "Been there, done that." I mean, that is part of it, but travel becomes really meaningful when you have these silly or stupid stories that you can reminisce on for the rest of your life.
So I'm gonna tell you some of my favorite travel memories today, and please, no judgment on some of these, but I think this is gonna be a ton of fun.
So before I just dive in, one thing I wanna point out is that all of these memories have one thing in common.
So I know I'm over here talking to you every week about planning your next vacation, and I 1,000% believe that the best vacations are planned in advance.
But the bestest vacations are planned in advance and also leave a little bit of time for some wild hare adventure, because you never know what you're gonna encounter until you arrive.
And I can set you up on the exact vacation that you're craving, but it's really what you do with those little moments that happen along the way that will bring you back those really great stories to tell.
And those little moments can be as simple as just stopping to enjoy the view, or striking up a conversation with a local, or deciding to miss something that you planned to do so that you can do something else that you discovered.
Your plans are definitely there to guide you and make sure that you're getting to experience the place like you imagined and like you envisioned, but the real magic happens when you have those unexpected moments that you could never, never plan for.
