31 Nights of 31 Frights: Day 24 — The Night Brings Charlie (1990) We’re heading into the VHS-era slasher trenches with The Night Brings Charlie (1990), a low-budget horror film directed by Tom Logan…
Directed by Tom Logan, who also directed Shockma, which we just took a look at a few days ago.
Yup.
Shockma.
That gem.
I did not know there were going to be two Tom Logan features on this list where I made this list.
pure coincidence.
The Night Brings Charlie was written by Bruce Carson, who only has one other writing credit, Hollywood Shadows from 2007.
Bruce Carson is primarily a stuntman.
He was the stunt double for Johnny Depp in Nightmare on Elm Street, and he was also in Freddy's Dead the Final Nightmare.
And Bruce Carson, he's not done writing, though, or directing.
He has a script for The Night Brings Charlie Back, a sequel that is apparently in pre-production for which he is set to write and direct.
When I looked that up online, it said the last update was 2017.
So someone's got to fund this thing for him so we can get part two of this thing.
Yes.
Never say die.
Never
say die, yes.
Unless you're
confronted with Charlie.
Tony, where did you watch? Where did we watch this?
We watched the lowest resolution possible copy on YouTube, even to the point where the VHS kind of like stopped playing and we get that play screen, the blue screen.
Yeah.
So we got the true experience here.
Yeah.
