So now, getting into the origin story of Sun Myung Moon, I believe is how you pronounce it.
Again, they called this church, a lot of times they called the followers Moonies since the leader's last name was Moon.
But his origin story sounds very similar to Joseph Smith's in the sense of he was 15 or 16, he went up in the mountains, Joseph Smith went into a grove of trees.
Now, from there, it goes different, but-
Yeah
...
the [laughs] idea that as a teenage boy going and searching, praying, and Jesus shows up in the flesh.
And in Moon's story, it said that Jesus said he f- failed to complete his mission, which goes so far against, like, all of Christianity.
[laughs] I'm like-
Yeah
... "What do you mean he failed his mission?" Like, that's insane to say.
But he said he failed because his mission wasn't just to atone for the sins of everyone.
He was supposed to have children, and he didn't.
It's interesting to me that going along with that belief of, hey, Jesus failed his mission.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, that just kind of like, it, it just feels so wrong to say that.
Yeah.
But that was his whole thing, is, "Hey, he failed." We, we...
And then he came to me and said, "Hey, you've got to help me complete my mission here." So that alone is just crazy to me.
But what's even crazier to me is the fact that today they claim to have about, um, 10 million members.
So a lot of people believed in and went with that, uh, I guess, ideology of Jesus failed and we have to help him complete his mission.
Yeah.
Well, the idea that Moon completed that one piece of his mission brings to mind two things.
