China, Russia, Iran, North Korea: Inside the Axis of Aggressors

I'm Bill Roggio.

I'm a senior fellow at Foundation for Defense of Democracies and editor of FDD's Long War Journal.

This is Generation Jihad, the podcast that covers all things in what used to be known as the global war on terror, but we now call the long war.

Over the past several decades, we've watched a dangerous mix of adversaries and enemies coalesce into an alliance that poses a serious threat to the US and its allies.

This alliance, consisting of China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, is described by my colleagues at FDD as the Axis of Aggressors.

And my colleagues, those Bradley Bowman, Elaine Dosensky, and Mark Montgomery, they've published a book, uh, surprisingly called Axis of Aggressors: Countering the Cooperation of China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

Today, we are going to discuss their book, and joining me today to discuss this are my friends and colleagues at Foundation De- of-- for Defense of Democracies, Brad Bowman and Ryan Brookes.

Brad serves as the senior director of the Center on Military and Political Power at FDD.

Um, he focuses on US defense strategy and policy.

Brad has served as a national security advisor to menis- to members of the Senate Armed Services Committee and Foreign Relations Committee, as well as, uh, Brad served as an active duty US Army officer in a Black Hawk pilot, and he, uh, most impressively an assistant professor at West Point.

Maybe that's the not your most impressive, uh, credential, but I li- love that one.

It was an excellent read, and I, you know, I don't say that.

I, I, I don't get a chance to read a lot of books these days [laughing] Brad, because I'm reading so mu- You know what it is? I read so much these days, um, well, all the time that, like, getting into a book is tough, but I was very interested in seeing what you put together here and, um, yeah, wanted to get you on the program to talk about it.
