Now, I know in the last episode, I had John Roberts, Bill Smith, and Alex Trejo on talking about Pentax, but that was more of a broad overview.

And we talked about the Spotmatics and the pre-Spotmatics, a little bit about the K series and into the M series of super programs and various other things.

In this episode, I want to just kind of delve more deeply into the actual K series cameras, that first iteration of cameras when Pentax introduced the K mount, because they are fantastic cameras.

so a little bit about the the k mount pentax came out with the k mount in 1975 and for a long time they they used the m42 mount and it's it's a fantastic mount very variable very usable and you can find a lot of lenses in the m42 mount but Pentax saw the change coming and wanted to keep up with the times.

So in 1975, in connection with Zeiss Icon, they created the K-Mount bayonet system.

so with the introduction of the K mount they introduced three cameras all at the same time in 1975 and then of course all the cameras subsequently have used the K mount so we're going to talk about those three cameras plus two others that were introduced shortly after that are still in the K series cameras they all have the designation K this K that So the first, I'll start with the least specced camera and then go to the most specced camera.

Although the last two, there's some give and take as far as which has more specs versus less specs.

And they actually have... you know, the letters are more square, more forward-looking, but nonetheless, they look a lot like Spotmatic.
