Machinery Monitoring Systems, or MMS, and TF Hudgens have announced a sales distribution agreement for the downstream oil and gas market that covers all U.S. states and territories.

Houston-based TF Hudgens, an allied reliability brand, offers engineered products and services for compressors, engines, pumps, motors, and other machinery.

MMS develops machinery health monitoring products and services for industrial rotating and reciprocating equipment.

Under the distribution agreement, TF Hutchins will provide sales and support for all MMS product lines, including Snapshot Engine Balancer, Machinery RX, ProBalance Engine Balance Monitor, ProBalance Plus Engine Balance Monitor, Sentinel CPM, and Sentinel VM.

Founded in 2018, MMS enjoys a strong reputation and expansive reach with X-Line as its exclusive distributor in the midstream market.

Prior to this agreement with TF Hudgens, MMS had limited exposure to the downstream market, relying on personal contacts to introduce its products to that segment of the market.

We started a dialogue with TF Hudgens related to the downstream market and it turned out to be a good fit.

They will be responsible for selling, installing, and being the first line of customer support for our products, said Steve Fulmer, President and Chief Executive Officer of MMS.

TF Hudgens offers a wide range of engineered products and services for both rotating and reciprocating machinery applications.

Their existing portfolio of products and services align well with our product offering, and their technical staff and analysts will provide valuable support for our customers.

According to Fulmer, the number one MMS product for the downstream market will be its Sentinel Reciprocating Compressor Monitoring Systems, such as its Sentinel CPM, or Compressor Performance Monitor.

Sentinel CPM provides real-time compressor health and safety monitoring, including horsepower, rod loads, theoretical temperatures, flows, and other critical parameters, such as rod drop runout, and packing event leakage flow.

The Sentinel CPM includes Warren Label's unique multi-factor diagnostic software suite, provided with no subscription fee requirements or data that needs to be sent to a third-party web application.

We install a variety of pressure, temperature, and vibration sensors on reciprocating compressors and then monitor critical aspects of each variable, said Fulmer.

In midstream, the primary critical piece of machinery is typically the spark ignited engine, both from a maintenance and operational cost, and obviously emissions compliance.

The auxiliary equipment, like fans and pumps and the reciprocating compressors that actually push the gas, are less critical to the engine, meaning that the focus in the midstream market is on monitoring the engines.

In the downstream market, compressors, pumps, and fans are the more critical components, shifting our focus from spark-ignited engines to the driven piece of equipment, which in most cases is motor-driven.

There is a need for our product portfolio to expand and cover those other machines.

MMS is wasting no time, already working on expanding its portfolio to meet downstream opportunities.

The company recently unveiled a localized version of its MachineryRx application.
