I wouldn't say that I'm having a lot more fun than I thought I would, but I think I'm having a fairly equal amount of fun in Forza Horizon 6 as I did in Forza Horizon 5.
The recipe isn't too different.
uh sampling the ridiculous cars that are left in the game was always fun what can i say i'm kind of a racing game peruser and enjoyer so i like to dabble but sometimes i don't stay as long as i think i should i do love the attention to detail that players put into their customizations and then steal for myself so overall yeah I think I was having a pretty good time.
I do have to say that this falls into my casual turn brain off and enjoy cars kind of game.
I did pull up my steering wheel for a little while and remembered how brutal real racing sim difficulty gets in any game before returning it back down to I think above average difficulty and cutting my calibrated steering radius in half just to make it a little more arcadey, a little more fun.
But yeah, really, I've been playing this game on my Legion Go as well as my PC, primarily with a controller.
It's one of those games where I don't mind if it looks a little bit potato, because in reality you're doing the world exploration.
You do have to turn things down a little bit, but at least, I would say, without resorting to upscaling, you can still get pretty good FPS.
I think in the end, the only thing that you really have to turn up is the car models because the car models look nice.
You don't need reflections though.
Not when you're mowing down trees at a hundred miles an hour.
Maybe that just comes to another point.
Like I think it's always important that the gameplay holds up more than the graphics, because when you're playing on a handheld, i didn't i mean when i played on handheld i didn't really care how the how jagged the tree shadows looked when you're i don't know sending your car at 200 miles an hour i mean if you really get into it there's no downside to turning up the graphics because the customizations are really nice and it's always fun to take on whatever decade of a car and i don't know somehow give it 700 horsepower or get a formula drift car and see watch it defy the laws of physics or the question how much grip should a car have when you're driving it sideways or unlock one of those force of skill cars the ones with like 2800 horsepower that are definitely not meant to turn and then you realize, well, if they don't want me to turn them, maybe I just won't turn, you know, do some NASCAR ring and, uh, ride the walls when the race is that way or turn whatever the danger, the, uh, stunt jumps into two kilometer flights or, you know, go down, uh, with those average speed corridors.
I, and win.
Even if you hit a couple walls, your average certainly hangs in there when you approach the corridor at 300 miles an hour.
Now that I say that, I think the one odd thing that I have to note in this game is I constantly have this error where I've gone in and changed the HUD settings, and everything should be in kilometers an hour, but every single car always drives in miles an hour.
I mean, it's not a huge deal because it's Basically just either follow the number.
You don't follow the number, but I always thought it was just kind of odd.
I think other people have been having this issue too.
We can talk about customizations because sometimes, I mean, they're really good.
I mean, car customizations, they really get the, the, fine tuning down correctly, you know, how much air in your tires, you know, the real nitty gritty stuff that if you actually knew what you were doing or you're just looking for the number to go up, I mean, you could do it.
There's also the other side, which is like customizing the whatever six different aspects of something that you want to focus on, like If you wanted to look at wheels and it gives you the six different aspects of wheels and wheel like things.
And sure, you can scroll through a hundred rims, but then you go to the section that covers like hoods and spoilers.
And it's like, you can either have it stocked or off and then the one time that you do find a different one it's like okay well it can have it stock or off or this one other option that like doesn't even relate properly and i mean like sometimes it's even more weird like i saw the side skirt options while i was trying to tune i think it was like an evo 6 And I was like, oh, there's more options for side skirts than just like the stock ones.
