[chuckles] Um, but it's all overshadowed by what's happened in the Premier League now with, uh, what's come out over the last sort of eight, nine days.
Um, Manchester City, obviously we heard about it last week late on after I'd recorded the podcast on the Friday, um, from The Athletic, and then the Premier League came out on Tuesday this week, um, with their sort of statement.
Uh, Man City have obviously responded.
They will appeal.
They've got till, I think it's today, isn't it? Or Friday the 2nd to appl- to appeal.
Um, I know somebody who, uh, and I, I may have said this, I know somebody who, um, was on the Premier League's law firm.
Uh, and they said they, they weren't working on the case, but they'd spoken and it said that, I mean, this is two, couple of years ago, that the evidence was undeniable.
I think anybody...
I mean, it's, it's absolutely shameful for me what they have turned football into.
It's an absolute disgrace from, from what was a working-class sport at the heart of communities.
What they have turned it into in this chase and lust for money is an absolute...
It's disgusting.
Um, it's like so many other things in society.
You know, you've now got players splintered playing everywhere.
Um, and football's been exactly the same.
I, I, I said on this podcast, I think when I first started it, 2019, seven years I've been doing this, bloody hell, um, was, uh, that, um, there's not a player out there, not one, Erling Haaland, none of them, that if you went back when they were 18, 19-year-old kids and said, uh, "Play football for 10 grand a week," there's not one of them that wouldn't have done it.
Not one.
Zero that would not have said as a kid, "You're gonna earn 10 grand a week playing football." It's more than enough money for anybody.
Um, the money they earn is absolutely ridiculous.
It's all been generated by this sort of falseness, um, that we've ended up with nation states involved.
And whilst Man City are to blame here, the, the circumstances allowing them to do it should be properly looked in- I mean, it's fucked.
We're never gonna get it back.
Um, but, um, it's an absolute...
