PODTRACCA (REALLY!) RE-BRANDS NEXT EP! Got a bit sidetracked there, next week its on. Before we do: Round 11 summary feat. the 2nd weekend of Sir Doug Nicholls Round. Pendlebury's big game, GWS's big…
[upbeat music] All right, gang.
Uh, welcome to Podtracka.
Now-
What?
Uh, [laughs] we did mention-
[imitates record scratch]
We did mention last week, or nay should I say promised-
Mm
Every week
... uh, that last week we were changing our name.
Shit happens.
Um-
Yeah
... and namely, we're missing a co-host today.
So I think our, our, our other co-hosts can agree that it would've felt a little bit weird to do, to launch the new thing and not even have one of us here.
Yeah
...
Lenny, uh, hello.
You know what would be funny? If we launched the new name tonight without Joey with us, and then just we never saw of Joey again.
[laughs] Like, you know those sitcoms-
[laughs]
... and then, like, like the character-
Like a-
... would have a sister and all that, you never saw her after the pilot.
Like, she doesn't exist anymore.
Like the link is just gone.
The link to-
Or, or-
... join, uh, the recording, uh, is a new link.
Yeah.
[laughs]
Um, in fact, we've, we've wiped, um, all records of, um-
[laughs]
... of Podtracka off the inter- Like that movie where, um, isn't it the, like, Jodie Foster and her daughter goes missing, and everyone's like, "You never had a daughter," and she's like-
Yeah, you never had a daughter.
And I love by the end of the movie she's like, "Did I?" [laughs]
[laughs]
Joey, Joey's like-
Joey's like, "Did I dedicate every Monday night for three and a half years to, uh, a, a little listened to podcast, or am I just making this up?"
He's like that-
Dreaming.
No
... fifth Beatle that left The Beatles right before they broke.
That's the ballad-
He's a-
... of Joey.
Same.
It's like the, um, there was a, there was a sitcom in the '80s called Valerie, which by the way, has one of the best theme songs you'll ever hear.
Um, and Valerie, the actress that played Valerie, the mom, was a bitch apparently.
So they're like, "Well, the show's doing well, but she's an ass.
We need to get rid of her." So the, the show was named after her, they just changed it to the surname of, of the family, and it became The Hogan Family.
And in season two they didn't mention her again.
[laughs]
[laughs]
[laughs]
It was just, they, they just didn't mention her again.
Look it up, Valerie and The Hogan Family.
That's hilarious.
And the theme song is a fucking banger.
I love that you are gaslighting this.
In fact, I'm gonna find a way... [laughs] They just gaslighted the entire nation-
[laughs]
... of the United States and Australia.
They were like, "Valerie? It was never called Valerie."
[laughs]
They didn't mention her ever-
It was never Valerie
... especially.
Listen to it, guys.
The theme song's the same.
[laughs]
So anyway, that's a long open to set the scene-
Ah
... for our podcast of, uh, of which-
The podcast where we're like, "We'll definitely go quick tonight.
Definitely."
Yeah, yeah.
Joey's not here.
It's gonna be so quick.
[laughs]
It's gonna be quick.
In fact, I think we'll ru- we'll run out of things to talk about.
It'll probably go for about 21 minutes.
So I haven't even introduced myself.
