In this episode of **The Fountain Podcast**, we take an honest look at addiction—how it begins, how it affects our lives, and why breaking free can be so difficult. We explore the emotional, mental…
Soki LeaGuestFirst of all, what is addiction? Because Many people, we cannot start to deal with something if we don't know the definition of it.
So addiction, you know, I was sitting under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and I got this statement that I'm going to read to you.
It says, addiction is a lust or craving of one's heart that has been attended to willingly and then bound to it spiritually by a demon or spirit that is responsible for that act.
So addiction, it is a lust, an inward desire.
It starts as a lust inwardly, that thing that you don't open up to others, but yet you can do it privately when they are not seeing you.
But later it becomes an addiction.
And when it comes to the moment of addiction, that means that you are no longer in control of that.
Even if you want to stop, you cannot stop it.
Why? Because at that moment, all that time, the spirit that is behind that act that you have been doing comes to govern you.
comes to rule over you.
Because the Bible says, in the book of James chapter 1, verses 14 to 15, it says, But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust.
Number one, it is yours.
You have it inwardly.
It is an inward desire.
And enticed.
What the devil does is that he brings that what you desire, that thing that you crave, For he brings those things that entice you, that draws you to it.
If it is women, he starts to bring those women around in order for you to choose to put it into action for the first time, but later you become bound to it.
That is addiction.
Addiction, it is a bondage whereby you are not bound with ropes physically, but you are bound spiritually.
That's why even if you want to stop, you cannot stop it.
Our listeners can really prove it and only that they cannot answer.
They have tried, you have tried to fight that, to stop in your own energy, but you can't.
You stop for a week or for a month, but later you go back with a lot of energy.
Why? It is because this spirit, you cannot fight it physically unless you have found out a way to come out of it.
So the Bible said, But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed.
