The days got shorter, opportunities to practice got fewer and further between.
So what stood out to you? What reflections have you had since the season kind of came to a close at the Autumn Classic?
Yeah, I felt like my season overall sort of took an early – ascension it went up quickly and got going quite fast and when uh when we hit the peak which was probably debuting in in a pennant match um for me it kind of got stuck in neutral from there and then i also forgot to put the handbrake on at some point and went back down that hill for a little while towards the end um so overall i sort of floored it up the up the hill early um december and january always being a pretty decent time for a fair bit of golf um and then yeah lost the engine got stuck in neutral at that point and and didn't find the handbrake quickly enough started heading down the other side without any brakes that's right oh no
a bit freefall
yes yes quite a bit of freefall going on on my end mate so that's how i'd probably uh sum it up in a little
a little story or or narrative what about yourself I think for me, it was a season of progress at a macro level.
If I take a step back and think about where I was at the start of the season, the goals that I'd set for myself and where I sit now with my golf, I feel like it was a season where I achieved a few of those big ticket items that I was working towards.
And so as a result, I'm... feeling a bit different about golf at the moment, but also there's that itch coming back in terms of what's next and where to from here and that desire to want to set my sights on a new goal and try and chart a course towards improving.
But a few things to talk about maybe a little bit later in the podcast in terms of what's come to mind.
Can I dig a little bit deeper on that season review for you? What was it that you think perhaps started the season thinking in a really positive way for you.
You said you made some really strong progress early.
What was it that you think, in particular, showed that growth?
I think, like you said, the fact that we could play or practice more, so the volume was higher.
And the more I practice, clearly, the more likely it is to show up.
It's not always that linear.
the higher volume of golf with the higher amount of practice or at least the ability to have played a small amount of holes maybe after work in that December, January, middle of summer, still light at nine o'clock sort of areas.
I think just that volume in general for me just gives me more information about what sort of shot, I feel like I'm hitting well at the moment.
What sort of one I can lean on and go to when I get a number from a fairway or probably from the trees or the rough realistically.
But when I've got a feel for it's similar to a shot that I hit last week at that point or similar to a shot that I hit when I played this hole on Tuesday night or whatever it might be, I think those feels and comparisons of similar shots when I'm playing multiple rounds of golf in the week or getting out to the course, at least multiple times, I've got those fields to lean on.
Cause I was even thinking, and we will probably get to it when we talk about best and worst rounds, um, of the season.
Um, But my best round turns up late in a golf trip where we've played multiple days in a row.
