Let's Discuss Resident Evil (2026) | S05E25

Now, I want to give you guys some backstory.

Again, this is a gaming franchise, but obviously with it being a movie, obviously this is a...

This is like more into my nerd, my forwards nerd domain than my gaming domain.

But it kind of does obviously overlap.

So I have played the first Resident Evil and portions of Resident Evil 2.

And I've seen other people play it.

some of the later games, but not fully.

And I don't know the full ins and outs of every part of the Resident Evil franchise.

But I think sometimes, and you know what, once upon a time, I would go out of my way to try and really learn a franchise before I went and watched some of these movies.

And I felt like that was the only way I could authentically talk about it.

But actually, nowadays, I do it the other way around.

I kind of come in and go, okay, I'm a guy who knows very minimal about this franchise.

Can I enjoy this movie? I think sometimes that's what people want to know as well.

It's not just about...

And I've always done this when I go and watch a Marvel movie as well.

I usually try and take someone who doesn't really know about it to kind of get that perspective.

But sometimes I am that perspective.

And for Resident Evil, that is the case.

So I have limited knowledge.

And I am already aware that timeline-wise, this movie doesn't make sense for some people.

And that's okay.
