Five-Star Gym Reception Services Course Mark Fisher built one of the fitness industry’s most distinctive…
Jack ThomasHostyeah I mean, Mark Fisher Fitness was born out of my both deep love of the best practices of strength training and nutrition and behavior change psychology and making something for my friends, which happened to be members of New York City's Broadway community.
So essentially the gym was this combination of this very like evidence based scientific approach and want to create the best product possible.
So for people not familiar with Mark Fisher Fitness, presumably you can still Google it.
We called them we called everybody ninjas, right? So you're a ninja at Mark Fisher Fitness and it wasn't a gym.
And our mascot from very early days was the unicorn, which explains a little bit why the company is called Business for Unicorns, which admittedly doesn't make a lot of sense outside that context.

Yeah, I think language can do a fantastic job of building that vibe and that feeling and that brand.

And that's something that... hospitality does very well that I don't think we do in fitness.

And I think that certainly helps you stand out and have such a successful gym with Mark Fisher Fitness.

If you bump into someone at a party and they go, oh, what's business for unicorns all about? How do you sum it up in 30 seconds?
Yeah, I think I would say that business unicorns exists to help gym owners build a gym and a life that they love.
If we were to go into greater detail specifically, I would say we do that by helping gym owners create more income so they're able to make more money and more personal livelihood from doing the thing they love, create a bigger and more consistent impact on their clients and their team, and then create some measure of freedom so they're able to take days off, go on vacation.
And if they're interested, have an amazing lifestyle business or increasingly scale to multiple locations, which require you not being chained to one single location.
