So now we get into our, I'd like to say the meat and potatoes of the big, of the podcast.
This one is about the reality of owning or looking after your first fishing boat.
Now, let me ask you this, Jesse, when you first, like when you were growing up, it was a big deal if your dad rented a canoe, right?
Yeah.
Like that was like, you actually got offshore, like on the water, like this is amazing.
I grew up with my dad had like a motorboat.
We did some fishing, but like it wasn't like a fishing boat.
And that's very particular about his stuff as well.
So it was like, you don't use it like a regular fishing boat.
It was kept pristine.
So I didn't really understand or know, even with some boating knowledge, what I was getting into when I got my first boat.
Like when I got my first canoe, I was 14 years old and that was great.
I still have it.
And it worked great.
A canoe is something, as long as it floats, you're good.
Yeah.
So those are beautiful for that.
But even Jesse, like you had a kayak first, right? Yep.
My first boat was a 12... and a
half foot sit on top bass fishing
kayak yeah i had you know even just to get to that point on your car it's like okay you need a lot of stuff you know like you need you need to get roof racks
you know
you have to have a car for one you need roof racks and all kinds of safety equipment and gear and and mounts for your kayak that to me was like it was not crazy because it's not a lot of stuff but when we finally got actual boats then things get a lot more complicated i would say and expensive
We, when I finally got to an aluminum boat, my 14 foot flat bottom aluminum boat, and it was from the 60s originally.
I had the old Mercury on it.
