Gary KazazianGuestAnoopa AsokanHostThe solstice was, what, like a day or two ago at the time that we're recording this? And I thought it'd be fun to talk about summertime fishing from shore, surf fishing, and, you know, whatever tips, tricks, advice that you might have, things that you look for.
I tend to go fishing for corbina a lot, just like an hour in the morning or evening or something like that.
So I'm just curious from both of you, what is your signal that it's time for summer fishing?

I look at the water temperature, right? And if it's like, if it's getting to be consistently above 60, which has been for really most of the year going back to January, then it's like, okay, things are kicking up.

So I don't know, this year is weird because we had really, really good halibut fishing really starting from January with the higher water temperatures.

I don't know if summer is going to be that, What do I want to say that that dramatic of a change this year? I'm not sure about that.

Yeah, we had summer-esque fishing very early in the year this year, like February, usually in, let's say, Malibu.

The halibut fishing really gets going later in the year, like June, July, August, even like November, it gets really good.

So for this year, it's like I probably the sand crabs running around back then.

But for the kind of fishing we do for like calico bass and halibut and stuff like that, it felt like summer very early in the year this year.

It's going to be a summer that maybe we're not too familiar with for the last 10 years.
