My initial thoughts with Michigan, and I had this really awesome conversation with somebody about it.
Michigan, I remember at one point or another, was probably one of the most boring races on the circuit.
And I mean that with due respect, right? Racing in general is racing, but when you think of Michigan, you would always try to compare it against Fontana.
But Fontana, in my opinion, having been to that racetrack twice, In my lifetime, Fontana was such a unique track because the bumps.
The bumps against the wall, bumps on the bottom of three and four.
You could slide in one and two.
You can run the wall in one and two.
That track just kind of had it all.
But Michigan, I felt like for a long time, I can't really put a time period on it, but I felt like we were just pretty much stuck So like one lane around the top, you know, we had a miraculous, you know, one of the best Michigan races, I think of all time was the Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson from, you know, a handful of years ago, almost 10 years ago, actually, it's kind of sad.
we had those types of moments, but they were very rare.
And I think with the next gen car is done for Michigan has, it's kind of made it, you know, a staple in the circuit.
The restarts, the right on top of each other, you can run three, four or five wide.
Um, maybe not on a late run, but, for what was cool about Michigan was you can always slide the bottom up to the top to, to gain speed because there's no arrow dependency.
Um, when there's that much of a gap between the cars on the bottom of the cars on the top.
Um, You get in there, second lane, guy on the bottom kind of sticks it but washes up.
If you're in the middle, you can always run the top, but you can't get too close to the wall because of the air dependency and things like that.
I think it's a good race now because of the next gen car.
So this race in general, before we get into results and points, I'll just kind of leave this as my two takes.
First take is this is a good race.
