SMITH needs Sheffield steel to defeat PUELLO, as NAVARRETE guns for FOSTER – BOXING PREVIEW

Ooh,

well, we forget as well,

title victory was actually this year.

It was still one of the best performances this year.

It was so long ago.

I think it was like early first or second week in January, wasn't it? In New York when it beat Matthias and became the champion.

So, you know what? I'm going to go no.

And the only reason being, and not because Matthias beat Puello to become champion, obviously the box of maths doesn't necessarily work, but...

I just think winning the world title for the very first time on a waste soil in New York, you know, big place to do it.

Big moments, a lot of pressure on your face and someone in Matthias, who's a notorious puncher and everyone's telling you, listen, you've just got to box them.

Don't get mixed up.

Don't get involved.

And Dalton goes out there, goes to New York and fucking puts it in the telephone box and goes, come on then big puncher.

Let's me and you punch it out.

and then comes through that, becomes victorious, becomes world champion.

I think now, coming back to Sheffield, obviously this fight's been delayed, hasn't it? It was supposed to happen a couple of months ago.

Dalton picked up an injury, so it has been pushed back a little bit.

That won't help the nerves.

But I think back home in Sheffield, Saturday night, Steel City, baby.

The crowd's going to be out in force.

The atmosphere's going to be unreal.

And this time, if you remember in New York at the start of the year, Grant and Dalton and his granddad and the whole team are getting spat on by the Puerto Ricans.

They're getting loads of abuse.

The difference this time is he will be carried into that ring as the champion that he is.

And I think that will get an extra 10% out of Dalton Smith.
