We're going to finally talk about grant compliance, what it is, and I'm going to really try to go into as much detail as I can within the time period that makes sense for a topic of this, for this kind of topic.

I've actually been doing webinars on federal grant compliance since 2020, the year that I started the firm, but I have done it actually for, uh, you know, as a speaking or training opportunity.

So the first one was in August, 2023, when the firm was engaged to deliver a training on post award management for several strive together organizations, uh, who received a full service community grants.

Actually, it's a full service community schools grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

So what is compliance? Compliance is, quote, acting according with or meeting established rules or standards.

Short and sweet, right? Well, then what is grant compliance? Grant compliance, and this is my definition, is, quote, adherence to the requirements, reporting standards and timelines, performance objectives, and funding restrictions of a grant.

Okay, well, what is federal grant compliance? Well, federal grant compliance is, quote, adherence to the Constitution, to relevant statutes, to terms and conditions of the award, to agency guidelines, program-specific guidance, and government-wide administrative requirements.

As I mentioned earlier, I released a YouTube short about this in April 2025, so I'll let you go ahead and check it out here.

And so grant compliance is the adherence basically sticking to the requirements of your grant.

So your war terms, the reporting standards and timelines, in other words, making sure that you're submitting, you know, program reports that meet the standards.

They're not aware that there are certain things that they have to do in order to be able to you know, comply with the funding restrictions of the grant.

And the fourth would be making sure, of course, that you meet the performance objectives.

It's making sure they have those other things in place to be able to meet the performance, the reporting standards and the funding restrictions that can become a challenge.
