Threshing Empyrean Novella ANNOUNCED!

We've gotta set the stage as to why this has been such a huge lead-up to this announcement.

On July 1st, Rebecca Yarros changed her profile picture on social media, on all social media accounts, to black and white, which had us in the fandom going, uh, hello, something is happening.

At first, we thought it was an announcement for the TV show, possibly casting, considering some other people who were rumored to be some of the leads casted, they also had photos black and white.

However, Rebecca Yarros herself shut that down pretty quickly.

A couple of days later, July 3rd, she posted on Instagram a picture of her planner that said, "Happy Birthday, Violet." Under that were 12 empty boxes.

12 days from July 3rd would, yes, be today, July 15th.

And then a couple of days later, on July 9th, she posted a black-and-white photo of six puzzle pieces.

Six days from July 15th.

Side note, I love that she did six, like the first six.

Oh, I love that, too.

I was like, oh my God, I just put that together.

Yes [laughs]

Oh my God.

Fast-forward two days to July 11th, and we get a black-and-white photo of four books.

Oh my God.

They are all the Wing and Claw editions with the gradient-sprayed edges, and the fourth one was definitely novella-length.

Then lastly, yesterday on Facebook, Rebecca Yarros said the caption, quote, "Hope your sunrise is extra beautiful tomorrow morning, cadets," along with the public notice 634.23, which is an epigraph we know from Onyx Storm chapter 40.

Quote, "Conscription rates are hereby doubled for each province until further notice." This epigraph refers to the conscripts of Basgiath War College now being doubled because of the war against the Venin, and they need as many people as they can get.

All of this leads up to 8:00 AM Mountain Time this morning, AKA 8:00 AM, the start of Conscription Day, where Rebecca posted a video.

And we got the official announcement that the Empyrean novella is a collection of 13 Threshing stories.

Oh my gosh, we are so excited.

It's so funny, real quickly, because Nicole and I very much thought it was going to be during Iron Flame from other POVs while Violet was being interrogated by Varrish, and this was so exciting too.
