Fourth Wing

So I kind of think like, all right, if Highburn's people are actually old Aurelians, very much like the shifters in Crescent city, they've been corrupted for thousands of years, obviously.

Um, Rebecca Yaros has this really good quote that I've seen from Fourth Wing that it's like, oh, it only takes one generation to change history and the next to repeat it or something like that.

Or to make it a new history.

And we get that in Crescent City already.

Let's hear it.

Prime Video is currently adapting Rebecca Yarros' massive hit Fourth Wing into a series.

Sony Pictures Television is developing Jennifer L. Armentrout's From Blood and Ash.

Hulu and 20th Century have Sheila Masterson's The Poison Daughter, and Amazon MGM is turning Devney Perry's Shield of Sparrows into a feature film.

They want the dragon battles, but they want the dragon battles to serve the emotional tension between the two leads.

Spot on.

And once one studio identifies a potential cultural phenomenon like Fourth Wing, the risk mitigation strategies of rival studios immediately kick in.

It reminds me of, like, rival sports teams all trying to draft the exact same type of star player.

And like, it was very easy to bring that world to life through food.

And at Fourth Wing, there's almost no food.

It was much harder.

And so like, we have Zayden's chocolate cake, obviously.

So like I have a like a pre-gauntlet carbo load menu that's like an Italian feast menu.

and so that one I like I actually structured it so like I can't remember everything now I need to go back and read it all but like each there's a part of the gauntlet each challenge in the gauntlet so each course of that meal is inspired by each challenge of the gauntlet and so like that's kind of how I think about it but it's really it's a little tricky like sometimes it's easier even for the characters another thing that was a little bit easier with the ACOTAR books is a lot of times their scent is described, which can help me develop a recipe that works well for them.

And that's, we don't get quite as much of that with Fourth Wing.

And so I, it was a little more personality driven.

Like, I, I understand it very, very much.

Um, honestly, I think, like, Fourth Wing-
