Did you know God has uniquely gifted you to strengthen your marriage? Every follower of Christ has been given spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit. While we often think about using those gifts in the…
And not only has God blessed us in those ways, but he has blessed Thomas and me both with unique spiritual gifts.
And maybe you look at us and you're like, yeah, you guys have all the gifts.
That's so cool.
I don't have any.
Yes, you do.
Yeah.
And we want to talk about that today because you have spiritual gifts and you can use those in your marriage.
In fact, one of the greatest ways to strengthen your marriage is by using and utilizing the spiritual gifts that God's already given you.
And we believe that every follower of Christ has been uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit.
not just to serve the church, although that is the main purpose of the gifts, but also to bless the people closest to them.
And if you think about that, like me blessing Thomas is me blessing our church because we go to the same church.
So a lot of times, if you're blessing your spouse, you are blessing the church, right? Um, and so one thing that I think about too is like, um, I think we tend to separate a lot of times, like passages in scripture, like that's in general, we don't apply that to marriage.
And Anything that we read in scripture about love one another, defer to one another, give honor to someone else, like all of these different things, they're principles that we should be applying to our marriages.
And the same with spiritual gifts, because I think a lot of times we think of spiritual gifts as something that is for church service only, period.
But that isn't true.
We should be using our spiritual gifts in the church, absolutely.
But we should be using them at work.
We should be using them with our children and with our spouses to bless others, encourage, support, and strengthen other followers of Jesus.
So we're going to dig into this today.
So out of curiosity, I'm always curious how certain topics come to mind to make an episode out of.
So what is it that kind of was going on up here to bring this subject around today?
So this one I wrote down.
So for those of you who don't know, I have a list of notes in my phone.
I have lists for everything in my phone, for one thing.
But specifically for the podcast, as I have conversations with people or I read a scripture or read a devotional or even a post comes across my socials, if it's something that triggers my mind and like, oh, we should talk about that on the podcast, I'll write it in my notes.
