I had been teaching Bible study online solidly for almost two years when I felt a stirring from the Lord that I needed to take the summer off.

Finally, I couldn't ignore him anymore, so I announced that I would be taking the summer off.

I thought I would be using this time to focus on writing and resting, but two weeks after our last lesson, I was sitting in the doctor's office with my very sick, then seven-year-old son, who had just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Instantly, I knew that God had gone before me when he said I needed to take a break.

And when we talk about Him being omnipresent, it's not just that He's everywhere right now, but He's everywhere in time, too.

In Deuteronomy 31, Moses is giving his final speech to the Israelites and commissioning Joshua as their new leader.

You can hear the urgency in his words, the call to keep going, keep obeying, and keep their eyes on God.

They had been wandering in the wilderness for 40 years and were about to go to war.

God promised them this land, and in Genesis 15-14, He promised judgment on those who were not following Him.
