The Astrology of October 5-11, 2026 / Libra New Moon + Venus Retrograde

Venus retrograde, I talked a little bit about this last week.

Uh, it's always-- Any retrograde is a time to, especially what's called, uh, an, um, a personal planet retrograde, Mercury, Mars, or Venus, y- it's a time to work on something that's personal to us.

We know Mercury retrograde.

Mercury turns retrograde every three months, so it's the one that everybody knows the most about.

Well, knows, air quotes knows.

Um, but Venus retrograde actually turns retrograde the least, every 18 months, and it's a time when, uh, we need to re-look at what we value, what we invest in, our relationship with the material plane, because Venus has a side of it that talks about money and income and assets and resources, but it's also a relationship planet.

And it is Libra season as I record this, so this Venus retrograde that started on Saturday, October 3rd, is very much about this sort of relational side of Venus.

It could be self-worth and value.

It could even be self-worth and value within the context of relationships.

But there's something, especially with a, with a retrograde, we need to retrace our steps.

We need to walk back on.

We need to go back to the past.

And that's just a reminder that life is not just this straight line forward.

There is ebb and flow, just like the tide.

There is give and take.

There is yin and yang.

There is active.

There is receptive.

And so the Venus retrograde, uh, again, like any retrograde, is a time to tap into the more receptive qualities of Venus.

What do I value? What do I want to invest my time in, my money in? Who is of value and importance in my life? Do I need to look at a relationship or even look at relationship dynamics and reorder things or, uh, sort of see things differently? You know, when we have a retrograde, there is an element of karma we, that we need to work on.

I need to work on my relationship karma, and it's, it's a cliché for a reason that, you know, during Venus retrograde, sometimes a- an ex can pop up.

You know, don't-- [chuckles] Hopefully, that doesn't happen.

Um, and, um, there's something that might maybe be a, a, is loose end or even just a reminder of why that person is not in our lives anymore.

Um, Venus will spend 40 days in total retrograde, so this is going to take us into November 13th, but since Venus is the ruler of Libra season, this retrograde, you know, kind of pushes more to the forefront of our experiences.

Libra, I don't think even said this last week, Libra is a sign that typically is more about the surface, about the veneer.
