One Year, One Yes | The Empowered Life Podcast Anniversary Special with Chris Burgin

Sounds great.

All right.

So the first up is with Desi and McCall Hank.

They are pastors at Riverstone Church.

And I think what I love so much about the Hanks is that they are, they're doers of the word.

They don't just talk about it.

They're doing it.

And they talk a lot about stepping out in faith and being obedient.

And so for them, whether that was starting a brand new church, which is what they've done, but really their passion is to go after the one.

And they have such a heart for speaking radical truth and yeah, going after the one.

And so this clip I think is really just paints this picture of what Allies is all about.

And I don't know.

I think really it inspired me to see how we can use allies as a way to answer the call that God has put on our hearts.

And so let's take a look at this one.

Yeah.

So can I read a passage? Yeah.

OK, sorry.

But I was thinking about this and I want to answer your question in a little bit of a different way.

Yeah.

What is our community? I want to say, why do we reach out to allies? Yeah.

OK, so and then we can go back to the community.

But, you know, in Acts chapter one, verse eight, it says this, but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you shall be my witnesses to Jerusalem and Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

and the truth is that many of us may not have the opportunity to go to the ends of the earth but what we can do is we can partner with places like allies that say hey we're going to have a ripple effect within the world not just this immediate community which we will have because it is our jerusalem but we are going to go to the ends of the earth and one of the ways that we can do that is by coming along an organization like this that says hey we see the least of these you know the bible tells this that we are to not resist the widows or the orphans right that's what james tells us so we're to minister to them and allies is a place that says hey we're going to go around the world and we're going to meet the orphan where they're at that they're the They're one of the ones that got away.

And we're going to make sure that we're going to reach them.

And so what we want to do at Riverstone Church is we want to come alongside organizations like Allies and say, hey, we're going to be obedient to Acts 1, verse 8.
