Martha and Mary | NEAR | Week 3 with Bonnie Paludan

It all comes from the verse in James 4:8.

It says, "Come close to God and God will come close to you." Yeah.

This is in the NLT.

Some say, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Wash your hands, you sinners, purify your heart, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world." And this is a really pivotal verse for us because God is a God that wants us to draw near to Him.

Amen.

He wants us to take a step close to Him.

He wants us to take an action towards Him so that He can draw close to us.

Right.

Sometimes we can be a people that kind of sit back and be like, "Yeah, come on, God.

What's going on? You know I need you." God's like, "No, come on, draw near to me- Right ...

and I will draw near to you." Amen.

The first week we had our firecracker Pastor Nick.

Woo.

Who like Nick? Talk on prayer.

[applause] Amazing, hey.

Really, really good message.

We're excited.

Nick is our young adults pastor, and he brings the fire, right? Woo.

He, you know, he doesn't let you sit back too easily in those chairs when it's, uh, time to preach with Nick around.

He's gonna make you get fully involved.

Amen.

We love having Nick.

And then we had the most best-looking preacher I know.

Oh, yeah.
