The best and worst of Trump. He whines again about not getting the Nobel Peace Prize. He says nobody has heard of the woman who did. And calls Norway a threat to democracy and civilization. Is this a…
President Donald Trump is alternately whining and ranting again about not winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
The United States of America, represented by me as your president, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but didn't.
This story was easily missed this week because it was at a campaign event in New York.
Its theme's very similar, but this one had the added attraction of a new attack on Norway, that it is anti-democracy and enemies of civilization.
Norway? Really? [laughs] Now, in trying to explain this here, I don't know whether to treat it with outrage, point out its blatant inaccuracies, or as a comedy routine, because if it weren't so serious, it could be played in its entirety as a Saturday Night Live opening comedy sketch.
I also settled eight wars.
How about this? So you see that? Today they gave out the Nobel Peace Prize to a person I never heard of the person.
Nobody did.
Wouldn't you think the president should know who she is? Navi Pillay's work spans decades in upholding the system of international law, including accusations of genocide.
She was also involved in the investigation of potential crimes in the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
It's a mystery person.
Because you hadn't heard of her, she's a mystery person? So he says he settled eight wars.
We're going to get them.
By doing a diesel deal with Russia to help it continue to fund its invasion of Ukraine, and now asking for President Volodymyr Zelensky to resign, you're going to settle this? And Iran, you're going to settle it? When? How?
Despite all of this, and all of these unbelievable accomplishments, the Nobel Prize was given out today to a liberal person who works at the United Nations who nobody has ever heard of.
I've never heard of the person.
