What have you been up to in the world of theatre? Well, I reviewed a production and also watched another show as a regular punter.

I was also invited to a screening of a short film produced right here in East Anglia, actually specifically on the North Norfolk coast, by an old friend of mine.

the show that i reviewed was sound ideas production of the adams family musical now you can read my full review at eatpod.co.uk but i thought it was brilliantly done even if i wasn't a big fan of the musical itself the performances from the cast were exceptional and the show gave a great opportunity to the production team to show what they could do in terms of costumes and lighting and they didn't let us down The reason I wasn't a fan of the musical is that it lacked what made the films brilliant.

There was nothing particularly creepy or kooky about it, to be honest, and a number of the songs just sounded quite contemporary and almost a bit too teen musical for me.

It was at its best when leaning into the gothic, Hispanic vibes, but there wasn't enough of that for my taste.

Also, where was Thing and Cousin It? Two iconic characters I felt were missing from this one.

Anyway, moving on, and I went to watch Durham Theatre Company in action with their final performance of We Will Rock You.

I was going along to support a friend rather than to review the production, but I really enjoyed it.

Some of the songs were a bit of a stretch for one or two cast members, but they mostly pulled it off really well.

It's been a while since I've been to watch any of their productions, so it was good to see some old faces on stage again.

The touring production of Operation Mincemeat and the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds in-house production of a play called Switzerland.
