For the purpose of our audience, because sometimes people can't really differentiate what coaching and therapy is.

And so while there is overlap and the way any individual person practices, there could be similar outcomes.

But in general, we think of therapy as being designed to treat and hopefully reduce the symptoms of some kind of diagnosis, anxiety, depression, bipolar.

But what coaches do, coaches are their role, their lane is to focus on skills and strategies.

So helping the child with ADHD or autism to build new skills, life skills, daily skills that they need.

And interestingly, therapists are not really trained in coaching in that kind of practical daily, okay, we need to get out the door in the next 20 minutes.

What do we do? And so there is very much a need for both therapists and for coaches.

You know, the coaching, profession needs to get to a point where it is licensed and regulated because it's not currently in the way that medical practitioners are in the way that therapists are.

And maybe part of why they see so many options for coaching is you can, I've seen, you know, lately, friendship coaches, marriage coaches, you know, job coaches.

But the piece of this that's so valuable with our neurodivergent children is that we really know that their executive functioning can be about 30% delayed.

Coaching can help to build those executive functioning skills so the child is less at odds with what the developmental expectations are at school.
