Remembering 9/11: Former Congressman Zach Wamp and Talk Radio Host Jeff Styles

Hey, everybody.

Last week, Jeff Stiles and I sat down with a couple of guests.

This is the second segment or the second episode.

We actually did a long live video.

And now I'm cutting it up into two different podcasts.

I just released one a few days ago with retired Lieutenant Colonel Sam Guthrie, who was in the Pentagon day of 9-11.

Amy Morrow, who was at Channel 3.

The day of 9-11, of course, Jeff Stiles was at the radio station and was on air.

And I'm a sales rep, right? I'm a dad.

I was a dad.

I am a dad.

And I was a husband at the time.

And so it changed our perspectives.

Sam's accounting of that day, his office was exactly, I mean, basically ground zero right at where the plane hit.

But this one, this conversation is with former Congressman Zach Wong.

who was instrumental in the days following 9-11, his stories of how he responded and his fellow Congress people responded the day of and following is just as intriguing.

And it put a lot of things in place that at the time we didn't – We knew we thought we needed, and I think we did.

But we've either taken for granted now because we've forgotten why they were in place to begin with.

Maybe you think politically they've been leveraged or hijacked.

It doesn't matter.

Going back in time to what we were going through at that time in our world I think is important.

That's why we say we'll never forget.

And, you know, bravo to Jeff for putting this show together or his idea it seems like a lot of us have forgotten and the question is would we still respond that way are we too divided now comes up several times in this conversation but it's with former excuse me former congressman Tennessee congressman Zach Womp Great conversation centered around a horrible, tragic day.
