DDA Rebound & Paying Dues: Devon & The Duke Episode 82

Speaking of...

What's that?

No, I was going to say, yeah, she's an incredible talent.

And, you know, damn, I wish WWE could have did something with her.

Yeah, they're leaving money on the table by not bringing her back in the fold and finding something more reasonable for her to do.

I understand that they wanted her to just do the ring announce and stuff, but clearly she is far more than just a ring announcer.

Come on, come on, new owners, figure it out.

TKO, figure it out.

Is that why she left?

Yeah, she wanted to do more and they didn't want her to expand her role.

They wanted to keep her where she was.

Well, that's WWE, that's what they do.

I mean, numerous people can come on this show and any show and tell you that that's the way WWE has always been.

Yeah.

You know, they're number one, that's it.

Yeah.

Nobody else.

And what's terrible about that, and you're a prime example of this, yeah, Devon Dudley can get in that ring and wrestle and all that good stuff, but you should have spent far more time on the mic because you are such a great communicator.

And the fact that we've won three Spotify Awards last year, and I'm pretty sure we're going to win plenty more this year, the fact that your YouTube channel is blowing up the way that it has, it is very clear that your ability to speak is just as strong and may even be stronger than your ability to wrestle and you're a hall of famer you know well so you know what

i don't you know the way i look at it is you know like the whole reverend devon thing you know i blamed a particular person when i shouldn't have uh for the reverend devon character not working And I've apologized because I thought different.

And then I heard with proof why the Reverend Devon character didn't work.

It was because Vince didn't think it was moving fast enough.

You know, during that time, it was the ruthless aggression era where people were trying to get over and to find their knit.

Because, you know, after the attitude era, that was a hard era.

to basically you know replace so in wanting that instant gratification right away that was the way vince was with a lot of gimmicks and a lot of things you know and if you didn't move fast enough for him you you know he would squash it or the idea would be gone and that's exactly what happened but you know again It is what it is.
