Dragonlance Canticle Ep. 168-War Wizard Review

So let's jump in to our topic of the day.

War Wizard from Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman is out.

It is the young years of Magius and Huma.

I always said Huma, but the audiobook says Huma, and I believe that's how Margaret says it, so I will try to say Huma, but, uh, forgive me if I say Huma, 'cause that's what I've said for 30 years.

General thoughts.

Weldon, what do you think about the overall story? Do you like it? Do you not?

I like the story, very much so.

I'd give it an overall seven out of 10, which is, in my book, pretty good.

Yeah.

Uh, it's got all the flavor that you'd like from, say, Soulforge with Raistlin.

It has the same kind of feel to it.

Yeah.

Chris Andrew has joined us in chat.

Welcome, Chris.

Good to see you able to make it.

Glad to have you on.

Katie, what are your thoughts of War Wizard?

I said this in my very brief spoiler-free review, uh, on the Nexus Facebook page.

I really liked it.

There's something about this particular book.

I don't always get this, even with Dragonlance.

There's something about this book.

I really felt like I was on Krynn again, and I haven't felt that for quite some time.

Yeah.

There was something really evocative about it.
