So we're gonna do a, I guess, quarter season check-in on Jacob Rodriguez for his Defensive Rookie of the Year.
There are a lot of guys drafted before him, but certain position groups tend to rise to the top.
But as of today, as of this afternoon anyway, he is currently the odds-on favorite to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.
David Bailey from the Jets is right behind him, and the Jets actually playing like a real team.
[chuckles] It's hard giving the Jets credit, but them being actually a real team, that could be competitive all year because they seem to be in a lot of games.
But as of now, Jacob's number one, uh, followed by Arval Reese and Sonny Stiles is also in there.
I think Washington's not great, and he's a, he's a linebacker that doesn't do all of the flash.
But the person that I think is his biggest possible competition is actually in fifth place right now, and that's Kaleb Downs because the media loves a good story and there's almost no better story in football than anything involving the Cowboys.
And then going to Dallas who has significant secondary issues, which is why they just signed Joey Porter Jr., that makes a lot of sense for him as the year goes on to get more and more exposure and more and more high-profile games to possibly win the award.
Y'all know going to the draft I was not the biggest Kaleb Downs fan, and it wasn't 'cause he wasn't a good player.
It's because when I think of an impact for safety, I think of like a Kyle Hamilton type.
