We have an absolutely jam packed episode for you as we recap the Nationals season both on a team and individual level. Who impressed, who still has more to prove and who shouldn't return to the Nats…
You look at 77-85 and the Nats immediately just get lumped into the teams that are perennially between 75 and 85 wins.
The Diamondbacks come to mind.
They're always between 75 and 85 wins.
Sometimes they'll go on a run.
But generally, like they're kind of in that window as they were this year.
Right.
So it's like you just get thrown in there and it's just like mid because there's there is so much mid in baseball, which is one of the many reasons we're heading towards a lockout.
You know, we had the worst record to ever make the playoffs this year in the Houston Astros with 81 wins.
They weren't even a winning team that made the playoffs and got immediately exposed by the White Sox of all teams.
But anyways, point being, you know, on the surface, it doesn't look like much, but it for anyone that has been plugged in to this franchise over the past couple years, and especially this year, I mean, I think you and I, we projected this team for what, like 65, 66 wins, 63 wins, somewhere around there?
Yeah, I think you were a little bit closer than me.
I was lower.
I thought it was lower, but I could have been, I might've been wrong.
I
had us at 67.
So I'm, I was 10 games off.
I can't remember if you were, you might've, you might've given them 70.
No, no, I definitely did not.
Like, I appreciate you.
I definitely did not have that much optimism for that.
But the, the, again, the larger point is like, even for us who do this show and have been plugged into the team for a few years now, We were completely blown away by how impressive this team has become, seemingly overnight.
I know there's obviously a lot of work and a lot of stuff done behind the scenes, but to have this strong of a turnaround in just one year without... you know, a full off season of trying to go for it.
Right.
Like it's just pure,
