Sarah HargreavesHostSam HargreavesHostSo I don't know about you, but I found that really helpful when we were reading her book and preparing to write our book, that whole idea that God flips it around.
Whereas our idea is we work, work, work, we get exhausted and then rest becomes a recovery.
Whereas the picture she's painting there is that you start from rest, that rest comes as something you work out of and rest.

That God has put in place and we've sort of missed this picture that Genesis paints.
I mean, I know that when I was younger, certainly I had that sense of like, oh, well, I'll rest when I'm exhausted or I'll rest when...
Often people say, don't they, that you either choose rest or rest chooses you because you have a burnout or you have an accident or you're ill or whatever.
And then... you know okay i'll recover then we talk a bit in our book about work being fallen work being marred by the fall but also rest being fallen because it's kind of part of that messed up version of work and so we want to sort of redeem god's perfect picture of what rest is

And I guess for Christians, we are always about building the kingdom and they can feel so urgent.

But you think about Adam and Eve put in Eden, the first garden, to till this earth, to start this project.
And I don't know whether I've done this in my own life and work and ministry and stuff.
