Nicole MahoneyHostSo at Visit Erie, we focused on standing out by being both strategic and authentic in how we tell our story.
A key example is, I don't know if you're aware, but we just recently rebranded ourselves.
And it has the moniker Good Life Great Lake, which really reflects what today's travelers are actually looking for, an authentic four-season experience that blends outdoor rec, local culture, and of course food.
But Just as important, we amplified that impact through strong partnerships and measurable results.
So our brand was actually an 18-month research-based process that spanned five phases.
We wanted to prepare our region, not just our residents, but our visitors first.
for the next decade or two, just aligning us with what our target visitors want, the assets that our region offers, and then showing our visitors why Erie is a place they will want to visit again and again.
We went to visitors, potential and past and ask them, what do you want in a destination? We obviously didn't do this alone.
We worked in partnership with our agency of record, which is Red House Communications based in Pittsburgh, and they helped us develop this comprehensive branding system.
So ultimately, what sets us apart is that we don't try to be everything to everyone.
We focus on what makes Erie unique, and we deliver that story in a way that's compelling, consistent, and supported by data.

I just love this idea of it being research-based in terms of how you approached branding and that you described it as being an 18-month process.
