The Docket Ep. 1302: Massachusetts v. Lindsay Clancy ep. 2

So obviously we covered Aiden's hearing this morning.

And while that was going on, Lindsay's trial started today.

So they're in there and they are picking a jury.

They got through quite a bit today.

Like I was thinking this thing might take a couple of weeks.

It'll slow down.

It's usually like that.

First day, you know, when you have a bunch of challenges, you know, you're like, ah, you know.

This guy's not so bad.

This lady's not so bad.

You're talking to your client.

State's conferring with one another.

It's not unusual in cases like this to see a bigger type number on the first day and maybe another pretty decent amount on the second day.

And when it gets down to it, when you're getting closer and your challenges are dwindling and There's people that you like less as you're going through the process as potential jurors.

It gets harder.

It gets harder as it progresses.

All right, so, but today, while they did select five jurors, the other part of this is that there was a motion to eliminate that was brought by the state, and they were complaining of...

Late disclosure by the defense of these experts that they wanted to call.

You know, they were trying to say, oh, yeah, you know, they're trying to do an end around.

They're trying to, you know, they played the stall game.

They're trying to drop these people in our laps like last second in the 11th hour just so we didn't have time to prep.

Of course, the defense is denying any of that.

And we're waiting to see how it plays out,

right? Yeah, we'll see how it plays out, and then we'll discuss.

It's not going to be a lengthy live tonight, but I think that we will enjoy watching this and dissecting it and trying to figure out what it means for Lindsey Clancy's defense.
