I have a new single out, and I just released it, and it's called Never Forget About You, and I wrote it with a guy named Chris Stapleton.

I mean, I w- I won't say favorite, 'cause I don't wanna pick favorites, but he's, he's right up there with Merle Haggard to me.

So, um, I was privileged to write with him, and I thought this would be a nice opportunity to tell you how that song was written, and then give you a little insight into the Nashville songwriting, uh, community.

We write stories about our lives and, and things that happen to us, and I think all songs are informed by our experiences and the things we've been through.

And I think we do, um, fill our songs with, uh, stories and feelings from our lives.

You go down to Music Row, or an office, or somebody's home, or wherever you wanna go, uh, but you make an appointment and you say, "We're gonna sit down and try to write a song." And sometimes you do and sometimes you don't.
