The Diner Became Rubble
By morning, the diner had become rubble.

It was going to take me around 40 hours to get there according to Google Maps, so I decided that I should play it safe and find a rest stop for when I get tired that evening.

A little while later, I'm at the bottom of the Northern Territory slash South Australian border, and it's still daylight, but it probably won't be long before it gets dark.

Along the way, my GPS decides to say, turn right in five kilometers onto Highway 88.

Okay, I'm looking and there's currently no Highway 88 in the Northern Territory but there used to be apparently.

Because no one used it anymore, the government declared the highway abandoned and removed linking roads up to it.

I thought to myself, whatever, probably some stupid teenagers making up crap on the internet again.

I put my phone down and I turned back onto the road, and when I come up to the 5Ks my GPS wanted me to turn at, I turn down onto highway 88.

But then the road turned to dust, and by then it was getting dark, so I decided I should unbuckle and camp for the night.
