Episode #100: Soul Searching

Okay, so since we're talking about homecoming, there's history here.

Interestingly enough, this kind of goes to our first poll question.

The NHL recently allowed the Winnipeg Jets to consolidate its history.

So the original Jets back in the expansion, the Thrashers, and of course their new reinvention, Jets 2.0. Would you be interested in having Minnesota have back its Minnesota North Stars history and let it be connected to the Minnesota Wild? Because Like this case, Jets 2.0 and the original Jets, they're different franchises, yet now that history is all shared.

So again, we ask our questions, yes, no, or who cares? What say you, Steve?

why not? First of all, you'd have to be able to convince the Dallas Stars to give it up.

which is probably not trivial, right? Yeah.

Right, so, and then, you know, I think the states moved on.

Yeah.

Teresa, what do you think?

Yes, because, I mean, it is a significant portion of the state's history.

The NHL kind of admitted that they made a mistake.

But Steve's right, you know, to have to, I mean, I don't know what Dallas would make us have to do to be like losing the team all over again, kind of to a degree.

Because, you know, teams can get petty.

I don't know, it's kind of weird because, I mean, I spent some time in Connecticut in the Hartford Wolf Pack, have Hartford Whalers banners hanging everywhere.

at Hartford Civic Center there.

So if an AHL team can claim its NHL history that they don't own, it'd be kind of nice to see something I don't know if we can go as deep as the the jets have gone, but there should be something.

Me personally, I would like to have the history back.

I guess for myself, I kind of feel like, what do Dallas, you know, like, honestly, why would Dallas fans care that we would take back ownership of things like Bill Masterson? He was never playing in Dallas ever.
