Atlanta Thrashers

Yes and no.

So the Thrashers is obviously, you know, Atlanta's kind of history there with the Thrashers and stuff.

And it's kind of a yes and no thing.

There was a one week they put out a, there's a statement put out basically to say, and Atlanta Thrashers put it like it was a full on graphic and stuff that they put out to say, you know, exciting things are coming, blah, blah, blah.

To kind of give you a bit of context, Alpharetta City, I hope they've pronounced that correctly, their council there approved zoning changes for a number of different areas to include an NHL sized rink arena in that area.

So obviously immediately there was a lot of talk starting about expansion franchises, obviously Atlanta being one of them.

It's why the Giants make me so upset.

The game ends up going to overtime, all tied at four and four when Bobby Holik tied it with less than a minute and a half left for Atlanta.

But then our Islanders Birthday of the Day, Josef Vasicek sets up Trent Hunter in overtime, just 1:09 in, for the game-winning goal.

Islanders win in OT five to four over the Thrashers.

19 saves for Rick DiPietro, but for Josef Vasicek, a goal and an assist.

I don't wanna say, I don't, I won't say they have a bird thing, but they have two birds.
