Um, today is autoimmune disease awareness, and some people think that they know about lupus until they hear someone with lupus talk about what they go through, and then they like, "Wait a minute," like, "Girl, I didn't know you go through that," or, "Boy, I didn't know that that happens to you." Yeah, you, you didn't know that because a lot of people think that they are very knowledgeable about l- lupus, but it's so much to learn about lupus.
It's so much that comes with having lupus.
Weight fluctuation.
Oh my gosh.
It's like one minute we'll be at our dream weight, and then the next minute we'll be big as a motherfucking house to the point where we don't even wanna look in the mirror.
We can't fit none of our clothes no more.
We just bought these clothes.
We can't fit it.
We can't even go out no more 'cause we don't feel as beautiful as we once was.
Ugh.
And it's not even the fact that we just overeating.
It's the medication.
You wanna try different medications that your doctor's giving you because you want some relief.
Having lupus is 24/7, 32/6.
It never goes away.
Never.
There's not one day that I'll wake up and be like, "Oh shit, no lupus." It's every day for the rest of our lives, period.
Until there is an actual cure or a treatment that isn't in trial that's actually something substantial, this is something that we have to live with forever, and that pain never goes away.
The only thing is some days are better than others.
That just means that this neck, shoulder, back, stomach, gut, all of that pain is at...
when it used to be at a 10, it's at a 7, and then the rest is at a 10.
But I can deal with it because at least one of them is at a 7 and everything isn't at a 10, if that makes sense.
Might not make sense to you because you don't deal with it, but mm.
So when we see our weight fluctuate, when we get on the scale, we, we have a lot of doctor's appointments, so we go to the doctor.
We get on the scale, and they like, "275 pounds." Be like, "Huh? You sure that's what it say?" Now, in our heart of hearts, we know that we've gained all this weight.
