Tom Cruise

You gave me one good tip, which was look at the right eye.

Yes, this eye.

This bad eye right there.

Anything else I

need to know before you insert it? No, no, you're good, you're good.

From our

most decorated screen actor alive.

You gotta

look at the eye line, which eye line do you want? Okay,

all right.

Which of my eyes will you be looking at?

I'll be looking at your left one.

Okay, all

right, that's good to know.

But both of them, I can see both of them.

Don't focus so hard on

that.

I want to start here.

Digger is arguably the first non-action, non-franchise film you've made in quite some time.

What took so long?

This is a movie that I've wanted to make.

I have tremendous admiration for Alejandro.

You know, I saw his film, Amores Perros, very early on, pretty much before I guess anyone in town, you know, seen it.

I understood what he did in terms of what he accomplished with that storytelling and the immersion, the detail of his framing, the colors of the actors, the performances, things that I knew, the resources that he must've had to make that.

and just the overall power of that communication.
