B FosterHostCoachHostYeah, I mean, uh, Padres were kind of in and out the last couple weeks I feel like.
Uh, wasn't like a week and a half ago, they're like, "Yeah, we're gonna be sellers," but they were closer in their path wild card, uh, than we were at the time.
And, but I get it.
That Padres payroll is bloated.
Um, you know, at the top, right alone, you got Xavier Bogaerts, which alone has been one of the worst contracts of the last decade.
Uh, so yeah, San Diego had to try and maneuver to still be competitive, 'cause they c- still can't get in the wild card, but try to unload some salary and try and improve and get a little younger at the same time.
Um, s- he stays healthy, you know? Uh, they can, they can do some damage.
They got some veterans in the lineup.
Uh, but it's an uphill battle for them.
Um, but in terms of the return, it's another young l- lefty.
Uh, I saw one f- not really fan graph, but a version of it, uh, for his pitching stats.
And, you know, he shows a lot of promise, good speed, uh, fairly decent chase and K rate.
I think two of the guys in their trades in total, uh, encompass that key aspect, uh, high K rate and high chase rate, just because I know if you look at our rotation, especially our bullpen, we have been noting, you've actually noted it, we've not had a lot of swing and miss stuff, especially out of the bullpen.
So, who knows how many of those pieces that we get back we will convert into high leverage arms that are not starters.

Um, he's actually a name that I did hear about, 'cause the, the Padres, uh, farm system is one of the worst in all of baseball.

Um, and so, you know, we did manage to snag their number two prospect, and I wanna say he's somewhere around the top 100.

I didn't get a chance to look at him, but, um, pretty cool name, which is probably why he's so familiar to me.

But, um, yeah, Cash Mayfield, um, when you pull up the, uh, prospects of our page, he, you know, his, his prospect score is very high.
