Tom and Brian close out Battlestar Galactica with a daring Cylon raid and a signal from Earth that nobody sticks around to hear. They debate the finale’s unfinished business, admire a suspiciously…
Tom MerrittHostThe painfully long winking at the camera moment of this ghost transmission, I wonder what it is.
It's only got the most iconic beep that I suspect everybody in 1978 had heard an awful lot.
And it sounds exactly like the radio chatter of the, oh, I don't know, most watched television broadcast of all time.

The tension is what are they going to do? Because they don't know it, but I know it.

Are they going to figure it out? And of course they don't because the producers of the show thought they'd get a season two and they didn't.

So they leave us at the end with the heartbreaking, like, Oh, but the transmission came back.
And of course we know that Battlestar 1980 did happen and it is either is or is not.

they got renewed with a smaller budget and none of the original actors except Lauren green and then jumped to 1980.

Um, yeah, I, I, I guess that implies that they were a mere 11 years away from getting to Earth, if you look at it that way.

But in the sense of the show at the time, when you didn't know there was going to be a Battlestar in 1980, I think it was pretty frustrating, especially when they canceled the show.

Sometimes I look at that, I'm like, that would have been a perfect way to end it, just to be like, the transmission is there.
