Um, [laughs] all right, uh, the, uh, other individual is Ronald D. Moore, born 1964, also a former Next Generation writer who worked on Generations as well as Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

Um, he was definitely an inside Trek guy who knew the franchise in and out, a pretty big name in Trek in general, and he'd go on to also work on 2000's Mission Impossible II and eventually moved on to work as writer and then at times showrunner on Roswell, Carnivale, Battlestar Galactica, the reboot, that was a big one.

Um, Outlander, he w- was showrunner on Outlander at least for a while-

You know, there's, y'all, we kind of got inspired by this idea that there's-

One of them is actually already a Star Wars Expanded Universe topic.

The other one is a Dune topic, and the other one's a Battlestar Galactica topic.

Let's start with Battlestar Galactica.

I once again will reiterate, as I have many times, that one of the best sci-fi series ever created was the

Battlestar Galactica prequel series,

Caprica, which deals with the concept of droid sentience and droid rebellion very, very well and intricately at a level of detail that I have not really seen anywhere else.

So that show, sadly, was cancelled before it got to the droid rebellion or the sideline rebellion um and so i feel like you could pick that story you could retell that story in star wars and then continue it and actually go all the way through and execute it um and then have it become its own unique thing at a point um now Dune is another franchise that has an interesting relationship with Star Wars of ideas being cycled around.

Because the Yuuzhan Vong are also against droids.

I think the first time that I really paid attention to him was he was the person that worked on Battlestar Galactica on the early 2000s.

uh, show.

And, um, I checked this out while I was in the States and the singles that they've released are, are interesting.

And Bran and Braga kind of says, well, you know, yeah, I feel bad about us kind of falling out at the time.

But actually, if we hadn't, he probably wouldn't have gone on to do Battlestar Galactica.

Because all the stuff he wanted to do on Voyager, which was, all right, all these people are stranded in this unexplored region of space.

Right.

And...

I think because that's the kind of opening sequence is Ethan Phillips is this kind of like schlubby sort of data clerk sort of staffing this kind of like outpost like out in the arse end of nowhere.

And it's shot like it's Battlestar Galactica.

now, so we've seen her as a total cunt, you

know? Yeah,

awesome in that, just tremendous.

She's

terrifying in Battlestar Galactica.

Yeah, really scary.

princess uh harmony i guess that's the name of the episode i should remember her name um uh he's called adria yeah adria yeah what's her face um yeah so the geni pop out and one of the geni is played by a guy from stargate universe um unfortunately i think it's is it patrick gilmore um i'm not sure was his intern yeah not not him the first guy who they run into um Yeah, Patrick Gilmore.

He's on Battlestar Galactica and Eureka.

And then he was on Universe as Volker, Dr. Volker.

okay
