I do everything in my life to get around suffering, to not let my kids suffer, to somehow find some way of making myself more comfortable.

Yet suffering somehow, even biblically, we know suffering is the thing that invites us into a new awareness of life and others and people and sobriety in my day.

So as terrible as suffering is, actually I think it's one of the greater gifts that we're given.

And sometimes it takes suffering to actually bring my kingdom down and invite me into joining him in his kingdom.

Like you cut me open and you'd see, I may not show it, but like underneath when something happens, I run to worry as if it's something I can do about it.

And so what I've decided to do is I want to actually start practicing trust instead of practicing worry.
