I literally cannot believe I'm saying these words, but today I'm interviewing Dwyane Wade.
If you've been around, you know that Dwyane has been on my vision board, and I told him that, and I feel like whenever I tell people that, they're like, "Okay, that's kind of random.
A, like I am incredibly impressed by his like athletic capability, et cetera, and all that he's accomplished on the basketball court.
But most importantly, I love that as a like male in a very like masculine world of professional sports, he has been so openly vulnerable and honest and expressive with his emotions and discussed his mental health, and I think it's clear that he feels really passionately about his role as a father.
I'm very interested in like the age range of his kids and how many different stages of fatherhood he has like embodied and their blended family.
And also we get into this, but like his ability to really step up as a dad and become such an advocate for trans rights when his daughter transitioned, I just admire the shit out of him.
[chuckles] Joe was like, "You need to shut the fuck up about how much you love Dwyane Wade." I can't stop.
I came home from this interview feeling so full of like joy and happiness because there's nothing better than when you're really looking forward to meeting someone, especially in like a celebrity status, and then they like exceed your expectations to the wildest degree.
Because it's upsetting when you meet someone that you've been looking forward to and they just like kind of are mean or rude or like whatever.
He-- My friends, I just keep saying like, "He's so cutie cutie." He was just so sweet, so fun, so nice, so down to earth, everything.
So this episode gets into his basketball career, his fatherhood experience, his mental health, what's next for him, his different ventures.
