It looks extraordinarily like it was premeditated.

A 1% pay rise is pretty ridiculous.

It's not so much striking for pay today but for conditions for nurses.

So, yeah, we've seen a little bit of striking action, but it's important to sort of, as we start off on this journey, to remember that actually strike action is pretty low at the moment compared to our history.

Just for context...

I think we saw a bit of a blip in strikes in 2018.

There was 143 stoppages.

They do record it.

Last year, though, there were only 47.

If you go back into the 70s, it was like 562 work stoppages in 1977.

1980, there were 360.

So quite a contrast.

Yeah, and I guess we'll get to this, but when you talk about strikes in the 70s, you know, my mind immediately goes to being, oh, I don't know, seven or eight or nine or ten in the late 70s.

And you're waiting for the Cook Strait Ferry to leave, you know, and it would leave Lyttelton.

I lived in Christchurch at the time.

And, you know, you were going to Wellington on the Cook Strait Ferry, you just leave from Wellington.

And then, of course, there'd be an announcement would come across it.

And

there'd been a strike and you weren't going anywhere and you'd stay on board.

That happened quite a bit.

It did.

And that was one of the ones, we'll get to that.
