And just for those who weren't listening last week or who need a reminder, we shared with you a question raised by our listener, Thomas, who was having a real battle over fingerprint verification.

He had been a client of Standard Bank for 30 years and more, but was suddenly having difficulty accessing bank services both in branch and on the app because he was being told his thumbprints couldn't be verified against Home Affairs Records.

And the bank gave him a form asking for verification of biometric info and told him to take it to Home Affairs.

And actually, in the end, Home Affairs confirmed it wasn't necessary for Thomas to go into them with that form.

First thing, Wendy, we heard last week that there was hope Thomas was getting sorted out.

I'm happy to report he went to the Kenilworth branch of Standard Bank to re-enroll, redo his fingerprints.

He said it was our show and not his two months worth of increasingly exasperated efforts that got the bank's attention.

In fact, a complaints manager phoned him while we were on air with this subject last week.

He says the Kenilworth branch and an area manager indicated to him that they'd be updating fingerprints for customers who have problems such as this.
